Description

You will install, maintain, and troubleshoot network equipment and circuits under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Install, provision, test, and maintain DS0 through OC192 services and transmission/switching equipment.
• Troubleshoot network issues, replace defective modules, and track spare parts inventory.
• Perform preventative maintenance and inspections on critical infrastructure, including HVAC, high-voltage electrical systems, and DC power plants.
• Monitor network routes and execute restoration tasks during service interruptions.
• Manage assets, coordinate shipping and receiving, and maintain tools, test sets, and electronic equipment.

Required Skills

• 0-2 years of experience in network monitoring, installation, or maintenance/repair.
• Knowledge of at least one technician discipline: Transmission (DS1/DS3/SONET), Switching (circuit-switching/SS7), TCP/IP, or Outside Plant.
• Familiarity with TCP/IP and SONET protocols.
• Ability to locate fiber optic cable, right-of-way, and As-Builts.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Office applications.
• Capacity to learn corporate databases and update installation records and trouble tickets.
• Valid driver's license and ability to work in all weather conditions.
• Physical ability to lift 50 lbs, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
• Availability for 24x7 on-call rotation, standby, and dispatch.
