Description

You will lead the engineering, implementation, and support of enterprise firewall systems for the State of Maryland DoIT Security Operations Center.

Responsibilities

• Implement scalable, redundant, and hardened firewall solutions and configurations.
• Manage the full lifecycle of firewall policies, rules, and architectural configuration changes.
• Perform troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and break-fix support for firewall systems.
• Execute patch monitoring, maintenance scheduling, and deployment of upgrades.
• Define requirements and develop role-based Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) documentation.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of hands-on experience in Network Engineering or Architecture.
• 5+ years of experience as a Team and Technical Lead on system management or deployment projects.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in architecture, design, implementation, and support of firewall technologies.
• Experience with URL filtering, Malware Sandboxing Analysis, and Threat Intelligence Feeds.
• Proficiency with IDS/IPS, SIEM, NACs, and VPN integration.
• Ability to perform gap assessments and security solution analysis.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
