Own functional safety compliance for system and hardware development across the lifecycle.
Responsibilities
Derive functional, technical, and hardware safety requirements from system-level specs down to component level.
Drive hardware-level safety analysis using FTA, FMEA, and FMEDA to identify and mitigate risks.
Support hardware safety architecture design, including ASIL decomposition, freedom-from-interference, and dependent failure analysis.
Manage safety documentation, configuration, and release processes in alignment with ISO 26262.
Coordinate with suppliers and customers to align safety topics and ensure program timing is met.
Required Skills
10+ years of experience in functional safety engineering for hardware or system design.
Deep expertise in ISO 26262 standards and their application to hardware development.
Proficient in conducting Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and Failure Mode, Effects, and Diagnostic Analysis (FMEDA).
Experience deriving safety requirements and measures at system and hardware levels.
Strong background in hardware safety architecture, including ASIL decomposition and critical path analysis.
Ability to manage safety plans, work products, and revisions throughout the development lifecycle.
