Description

Own the front-end technical vision and standards for:

• Web: React, Gatsby, TypeScript
• Mobile: Ionic
• CMS: Prismic
• Design and validate front-end architectures and patterns in collaboration with:
• Back-End Tech Lead (AWS Lambda, Node, GraphQL)
• DevOps (AWS, ECS, CDK, CI/CD)
• Ensure front-end integrations are robust and secure with services such as Olo, Paytronix, Radar, FreedomPay, Sift, Firebase, Google Analytics, Foods Connected, NCR, Ping Identity.
• Drive performance optimization, accessibility considerations, scalability, and technical debt remediation on all front-end channels.
• Define and maintain coding standards, reusable component libraries, and best practices (security, performance, observability).

Delivery & Engineering Excellence

• Lead end-to-end front-end delivery for digital initiatives:
• UI implementation based on approved UX designs and hero flows
• Feature development and enhancements across web and mobile ordering journeys
• Promotion and content updates in coordination with CMS authors
• Translate requirements and UX artifacts into clear technical designs and tasks:
• Contribute to user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical specifications
• Participate in backlog grooming, estimation, and release planning
• Oversee quality of front-end code:
• Code reviews and merge approvals
• Unit, integration, and UI test design & execution
• Support ADA/accessibility testing activities as scoped
• Collaborate closely with QA and Automation Engineers to:
• Increase regression test automation and code coverage to agreed KPIs
• Embed front-end tests into the CI/CD pipeline

Run, Operations & Support

• Support release and deployment activities for front-end components:
• Participate in release planning and execution
• Provide technical leadership during hypercare and post-release monitoring
• Guide defect triage and root cause analysis for front-end incidents
• Partner with DevOps to:
• Improve front-end build pipelines, CI/CD automation, and observability (logging, alerts, dashboards)
• Implement and refine monitoring of front-end performance and availability
• Contribute to KPI achievement and continuous improvement:
• On-time delivery, productivity, test execution, code coverage, and automation targets
• Identify and drive initiatives to reduce incidents and improve stability and velocity

Team Leadership & Collaboration

• Lead and mentor a distributed front-end team:
• Onshore Lead Front-End Developer
• Offshore Front-End Lead and Front-End Developers
• Provide technical direction, coaching, and feedback to elevate engineering practices.
• Align front-end team with Agile ceremonies and ways of working:
• Work with Scrum Master, PM/BA, and Digital Lead on sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives
• Ensure effective collaboration with:
• Back-End Tech Lead and backend developers
• Product Owners, Business Stakeholders, UX/Design
• DevOps, QA, Automation, and Test Strategy roles
