Description

Develop and maintain embedded applets and Android Automotive system services.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Build and extend Android Automotive applets that interact with vehicle hardware and sensors.
• Develop physical in-vehicle applications, including climate control, seat settings, and camera views.
• Adapt and enhance the applets framework for embedded systems and new hardware constraints.
• Implement inter-module communication via AIDL, event bus, or Binder IPC.
• Ensure performance, reliability, and real-time responsiveness suitable for automotive environments.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Kotlin and Java for applets and Android system services.
• Strong C++ skills for native components via JNI, hardware interfacing, or embedded optimization.
• Deep understanding of Android Framework internals, including System Services, AIDL, and Binder IPC.
• Experience with Android HAL, JNI, and NDK for native integration.
• Familiarity with CarService and Car API layers in Android Automotive.
• Experience extending or customizing AOSP (Android Open Source Project).

Preferred Skills

• Python experience for tooling or testing.
