Responsibilities

 

• Develop, enhance, and maintain full-stack applications using Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, web services, SQL databases, and UI frameworks.
• Translate high-level business requirements for multiple, complex requests into detailed functional, technical, and system requirements.
• Support all phases of the software development lifecycle, including analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Assist Project Managers and Business Analysts in product delivery, planning, estimation, clarification, and technical execution.
• Design and implement scalable backend services, user interface components, APIs, integrations, and database solutions.
• Develop and maintain API integrations using Mulesoft and/or Apigee, as applicable to project needs.
• Implement event-driven solutions using Kafka where required.
• Build, package, deploy, and support applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Develop efficient SQL solutions and support relational database development using Postgres.
• Collaborate with cross-functional, international, IT, and Business groups across regions and roles.
• Apply Agile methodologies and established software development practices to deliver project outcomes.
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, defect resolution, troubleshooting, and performance improvement activities.
• Use source control, common IDEs, continuous integration, code quality, and test automation tools to support reliable delivery.
• Take ownership of assigned tasks, raise questions when requirements or technical issues are unclear, and leverage relevant team expertise to resolve problems.
• Promote maintainable, secure, reusable, and resource-efficient solutions that reduce rework and support sustainable software delivery.

• Experience with Financial Services is preferred.
• Candidates may qualify through an equivalent combination of formal education, software development experience, full-stack delivery, technical implementation, and relevant experience in similar roles.
• Experience should be evaluated based on technical scope, delivery responsibility, solution complexity, collaboration, and demonstrated project outcomes. 
  
   

Day-to-Day Activities

 

• Develop and maintain Java, Spring Boot, J2EE, web service, API integration, UI, and SQL database components across assigned product initiatives.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, technical discussions, requirements clarification, code reviews, and regular collaboration with Project Managers, Business Analysts, IT teams, and Business teams.
• Design, implement, test, troubleshoot, and document scalable solutions using Angular and/or React, Postgres, Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, and applicable integration platforms.
• Make technical decisions within assigned responsibilities, raise questions when requirements or issues are unclear, and deliver agreed work products in line with quality, security, maintainability, and timeline expectations. 
  
   

Qualifications

 

• Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field; an equivalent combination of education and software development or other similar relevant experience may be considered.
• 7–15 years of industry experience with strong Java development experience.
• Relevant training in Java, Spring Boot, full-stack development, API integration, databases, containers, Agile methodologies, or software development practices is preferred.
• Certifications in Java, cloud technologies, Kubernetes, Agile delivery, or related technical areas are preferred but are not specified as mandatory.
• Maintain continuous professional development in Java technology, UI frameworks, API integration, cloud-native development, software quality, security, and emerging engineering practices
