Description

You will migrate legacy Perl applications to modern Python and Django, establishing best practices and maintaining technical documentation.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Migrate functionality from legacy Perl systems to Python and Django.
• Collaborate with management and developers to deliver technical solutions.
• Establish and promote development best practices within the team.
• Create and maintain clear technical documentation for applications.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in software development.
• Proficiency in Python and Django for backend development.
• Experience with JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Experience with MariaDB, PostgreSQL, and Redis.
• Experience with Celery task queues or similar asynchronous frameworks.
• Experience with REST and web-based APIs.
• Proficiency with Git for version control.
• Understanding of DevOps, cloud environments, and CI/CD.
• Knowledge of basic networking concepts and SNMP polling.

Preferred Skills

• Experience working within Agile methodologies.
