Full Stack Ruby on Rails Engineer

We’re seeking an experienced Full Stack Engineer to help build and maintain the digital infrastructure that supports our work. This role involves working with modern web technologies to create robust, scalable applications that facilitate our research initiatives and grant management processes.

Tech Stack

• Ruby on Rails 8 for robust backend development
• Modern frontend architecture with Hotwire/Turbo, Stimulus, and View Components
• JavaScript ecosystem (TypeScript preferred) for enhanced type safety
• PostgreSQL and Redis for reliable data management
• Docker containerization for consistent deployment environments
• Comprehensive testing suite using Minitest and Cypress
• Salesforce integration experience

Qualifications

• 6+ years Ruby on Rails full stack experience, with demonstrated proficiency in building complex web applications
• Strong JavaScript skills with experience in TypeScript or similar type systems
• Experience implementing responsive, accessible user interfaces with modern frontend patterns
• Proficiency with PostgreSQL database design, optimization, and Redis caching strategies
• Advanced Git version control and collaborative development workflows
• Commitment to software engineering best practices: comprehensive testing, thorough code reviews, clear documentation
• Salesforce experience, particularly with API integration and data synchronization, is highly desirable
• Technical background (Computer Science degree, coding bootcamp graduate, or equivalent professional experience)
• Self-motivated with excellent project and time management skills
• Adaptable problem-solver with a positive approach to implementing change
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple concurrent projects
• Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
