What You'll Work On

• Design, build, and maintain RESTful APIs with Python 3.12 and FastAPI using an async-first

architecture.

• Develop responsive, accessible UI features in an Angular (v22) single-page application.

• Model data with async SQLAlchemy and PostgreSQL, and manage schema changes through

Alembic migrations.

• Integrate Okta-based JWT authentication and role/claim-based authorization across the

stack.

• Build and consume AI/LLM-powered features such as the in-product chat assistant, token

usage tracing, and cost-budget controls.

• Ship data visualisation and reporting experiences (charts, dashboards, PDF/Excel export).

• Write end-to-end and integration tests, and uphold strict linting, typing, and code-quality

standards.

• Deploy and operate services on Azure using containers, Helm/Kubernetes, and observability

tooling.

Back-End Technical Requirements

• Strong professional experience with Python 3.12+ and the FastAPI framework.

• Async programming with Python (async/await) and async web/database stacks.

• SQLAlchemy 2.0 (async) and PostgreSQL, including schema design and Alembic migrations.

• Pydantic v2 for data validation and settings/configuration management.

• Designing and securing REST APIs with Okta JWT authentication and claim/group-based

authorization.

• Writing integration and end-to-end tests with pytest, pytest-asyncio, and async test clients.

• Code quality tooling: Ruff (linting/formatting) and mypy (static typing), with fully type-

hinted code.

• Containerized development and delivery with Docker/Podman, gunicorn/uvicorn, and task

runners (just).

Front-End Technical Requirements

• Strong professional experience building applications with Angular (ideally v16+; the platform

runs on v22).

• TypeScript, RxJS, and modern reactive state management (NgRx Signals).

• Angular Material / CDK and component-driven UI development.

• Working in an Nx monorepo with shared libraries and multiple applications.

• Data visualisation libraries (e.g. amCharts, ECharts) and document export (PDF/Excel).

• Internationalisation (Transloco) and utility-first styling with Tailwind CSS.

• Okta-based authentication in a single-page application context.

• Front-end testing and quality: Jest unit tests, Playwright e2e, ESLint, Prettier, and Storybook.

Cloud, DevOps & Observability

• Deploying and operating workloads on Microsoft Azure (Blob Storage, Communication

Services, Static Web Apps, identity).

• Kubernetes and Helm-based deployments across multiple environments.

• Application monitoring and tracing with New Relic and OpenTelemetry.

• CI/CD practices, Git-based workflows, and automated quality gates.

Preferred / Nice to Have

• Experience in clinical trials, healthcare, or another regulated/compliance-sensitive domain.

• Experience integrating LLM/AI features and managing their cost and usage.

• Familiarity with event/email and messaging integrations.

• Comfort operating as a sole or lead engineer with strong ownership and communication.
