Description

You will manage functional safety processes and documentation for automotive systems in Dearborn, MI.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Prepare functional safety work products including Item Definition, HARA, Functional Safety Concept, and Technical Safety Concept.
• Perform safety analyses using FMEA and FTA.
• Interact with feature owners, suppliers, and cross-functional software and design engineers.
• Establish and lead functional safety working level meetings for cross-functional teams.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in functional safety engineering.
• Experience with ISO 26262 (2018 version) during concept and system design phases.
• Proficiency in Item Definition, HARA, Functional Safety Concept, and Technical Safety Concept.
• Experience with Preliminary Hazard Analysis (PHA), Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA), and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA).
• Experience in the ADAS domain or automotive ECU development.
• Exposure to breadboard, vehicle, and HIL testing.
• Experience writing Design Verification Plans and Methods (DVP/DVM).
• Embedded ECU software design experience using C, C++, Matlab, Simulink, or Stateflow.
• Knowledge of requirements engineering using DOORS or Polarion.
• Experience with issue management and version control tools like JIRA and GitHub.
