Lead functional testing for payroll systems, ensuring accuracy across complex calculations and regulatory compliance.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end payroll testing, including gross-to-net pay, tax calculations, deductions, and benefits.
• Validate payroll cycles from onboarding and HR integration through paycheck creation and final processing.
• Manage manual and automated testing efforts, leveraging AI-driven tools to generate test scripts and improve efficiency.
• Analyze payroll anomalies and discrepancies, distinguishing between system bugs and input errors, and collaborate with developers for resolution.
• Ensure quality software solutions meet requirements while reducing financial and legal risks associated with payroll errors.

Required Skills

• 5-10 years of experience in software development or testing, with at least 5 years in manual and automated testing.
• Deep knowledge of payroll domain, including federal, state, and local regulations, retroactive calculations, and garnishments.
• Proficiency in SDLC practices and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Experience with DevSecOps and version control systems.
• Ability to use AI/ML tools (e.g., CoPilot, WatsonX) for code analysis and pattern recognition.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Mainframe systems.
• Familiarity with accounting principles related to payroll.
