Description

You will design, manage, and secure Kafka clusters and GCP infrastructure within distributed, event-driven architectures.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain Kafka clusters across development, testing, and production environments.
• Perform upgrades, patching, and capacity planning for Kafka and ZooKeeper components.
• Monitor cluster health and performance to diagnose and resolve broker, topic, and partition issues.
• Implement security protocols including SSL/TLS encryption, Kerberos authentication, and access control policies.
• Develop automation scripts for cluster provisioning and maintenance using Terraform or custom scripting.

Required Skills

• 15+ years of experience in infrastructure management.
• 5+ years of experience as a Kafka Administrator managing Kafka clusters.
• 5+ years of experience as a GCP Cloud Architect.
• Expertise in distributed systems, data streaming, and event-driven architectures.
• Proficiency with Terraform for infrastructure as code.
• Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix operating systems and shell scripting.
• Deep understanding of network security principles and data privacy standards.
• Experience developing disaster recovery and backup/restore procedures.
• Strong technical communication skills for client-facing reporting and POC presentations.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with containerization using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Proficiency with GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
