GCP Infrastructure Management: Design, deploy, and manage core GCP infrastructure services, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
Networking and Security: Configure and maintain GCP networking components, including:
Virtual Private Clouds (VPC)
Cloud DNS
Firewall Rules
Cloud Load Balancing
Network peering and routing
Identity and Access Management (IAM) and Security Controls: Implement and manage robust security policies, access controls, and GCP security controls to enforce the principle of least privilege and protect cloud resources.
Monitoring and Observability: Implement and utilize Cloud Logging and other GCP monitoring and logging services (e.g., Cloud Monitoring) to proactively identify, analyze, and resolve operational issues.
Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Develop, maintain, and manage infrastructure deployment using Terraform to ensure consistency, repeatability, and version control across environments.
CI/CD & Version Control: Utilize Git for source control management and integrate infrastructure changes through automated workflows using GitHub Actions.
System Administration: Linux administration, scripting (Bash and Python), usage and maintenance of CLI tools and environment.
Collaboration: Work closely with development and operations teams to integrate cloud services into the CI/CD pipeline and ensure seamless deployment.
Documentation:Create clear and thorough documentation for cloud architecture, configuration, and operational procedures.
Required Qualifications
Experience: 5 years of professional experience working hands-on with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
GCP Core Services: Demonstrated experience with GCP foundational services, including:
VPC and network configuration
Cloud DNS
IAM and authentication/authorization mechanisms and tools
Cloud Firewall and security best practices
Both network and application layer loadbalancers
Experience with IAC tools like Terraform for provisioning and managing GCP resources.
Practical experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines, preferably using GitHub Actions.
Operating System: Strong administration skills in Linux environments.
Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)
Certification:GCP Associate Cloud Engineer Certificate is desirable, or another relevant professional GCP certification (e.g., Google Cloud Engineer).
Scripting: Experience with scripting languages such as Bash and/or Python for automation and operational tasks.
Containerization: Exposure to any container build tools like Docker, Podman, Buildah or similar. Exposure to Kubernetes either standalone or via cloud providers (GKE or EKS)
