Description

Design and implement scalable data solutions on Google Cloud Platform to support data center migrations and data engineering projects.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute migration strategies for applications and databases from on-premises environments to GCP or Azure.
• Build and lead data engineering projects, including the development of data pipelines, data lakes, and data warehouses.
• Configure cloud resources such as Compute Engine, storage, networking, and security services to support migration and post-migration operations.
• Implement automation and orchestration to streamline the provisioning and management of cloud infrastructure.
• Optimize infrastructure performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness through right-sizing and auto-scaling.

Required Skills

• 13+ years of total experience in data engineering and architecture.
• 3-4 years of experience in a dedicated architectural role.
• Proven expertise in GCP data engineering and implementing projects using BigQuery.
• Hands-on experience building ETL processes and data pipelines using Apache Beam, Apache Spark, or similar technologies.
• Ability to architect scalable solutions using GCP services including Compute Engine, Bigtable, Pub/Sub, and Dataflow.
• Experience managing migrations from on-premises environments to the cloud.
• Understanding of DevOps within GCP infrastructure.
• Healthcare industry experience (Payer or Provider).
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred Skills

• GCP Data Engineer certification.
• Familiarity with Azure, AWS, or hybrid cloud environments.
• Knowledge of data governance, data modeling, and metadata management.
