Description

Drive the migration of legacy data warehouses to Google Cloud for a major telecommunications provider.

Responsibilities

• Architect and develop complex ETL pipelines within Google Cloud environments.
• Design data pipelines for underlying data warehouses and data marts in collaboration with Data Architects and Product Managers.
• Maintain detailed documentation to support data quality, governance, and deployment activities.
• Support QA, UAT data testing, and deployment to higher environments.
• Optimize queries in BigQuery to ensure operational efficiency and meet SLAs for Data Science and Analytics teams.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of data engineering experience developing large-scale pipelines in complex environments.
• Expert-level SQL skills with the ability to build complex transformation pipelines in BigQuery.
• Strong Python programming skills for automating jobs and scripting.
• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud technologies including BigQuery, GCS, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Data Fusion, and Cloud Functions.
• Experience building and debugging Airflow jobs for orchestration.
• Ability to understand and work with legacy Teradata and BTEQ scripts.
• Proficiency with Git/GitHub for version control.
• Familiarity with data modeling techniques and warehousing methodologies.
• Experience working within Agile/Scrum frameworks.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Bash scripting.
• Ability to lead teams in an onsite/offshore delivery model.
