Description

You will architect and maintain scalable data lakehouse solutions on Google Cloud Platform, integrating BigQuery, BigLake, and Vertex AI to enable predictive analytics.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Architect data lakehouses using GCS and BigLake, enforcing security on Parquet and Iceberg formats.
• Design complex BigQuery data models with clustering, partitioning, and materialized views for performance tuning.
• Operationalize ML models via Vertex AI pipelines, Feature Store, and production deployment.
• Orchestrate batch and streaming pipelines with Dataflow, Dataproc, or Cloud Composer.
• Mentor junior engineers through code reviews and establish data quality compliance policies.

Required Skills

• 5+ years Data Engineering experience, with 3+ years exclusively on GCP.
• Expert-level BigQuery: advanced SQL, query profiling, and optimization.
• Proven BigLake experience for lakehouse architectures and unified security policies.
• Hands-on Vertex AI: pipelines, endpoints, feature stores, and ML deployment.
• Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Experience with orchestration tools like Apache Airflow or Cloud Composer.
• Familiarity with CI/CD using GitHub Actions, Terraform, or Cloud Build.
• Deep understanding of GCS storage classes and lifecycle management.

Preferred Skills

• Google Cloud Certified - Professional Data Engineer or Professional Machine Learning Engineer.
• Familiarity with Java, Scala, or Go.
