Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Geospatial Analyst with strong expertise in Databricks, Oracle, SQL, and geospatial data analytics. The ideal candidate will design, develop, and optimize scalable geospatial data solutions while working with large and complex spatial and non-spatial datasets.

This role will focus on developing robust spatial analytics pipelines, maintaining data accuracy and quality, and transforming location-based information into actionable business insights.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable geospatial data pipelines in Databricks, integrating spatial and non-spatial datasets.
• Develop and optimize complex SQL queries and spatial procedures within Oracle databases.
• Analyze large-scale geospatial and map-centric datasets to identify spatial patterns, trends, and correlations.
• Develop geospatial visualizations, maps, and dashboards that communicate location-based insights to business stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers, Data Scientists, Business Analysts, and other cross-functional teams to develop effective geospatial data models.
• Implement data-quality checks and validation processes for geospatial layers and reference datasets.
• Develop and maintain documentation covering data dictionaries, processing logic, and analytical methodologies.
• Provide guidance on geospatial data governance, including coordinate reference systems, metadata standards, and data-retention practices.
• Evaluate new tools, libraries, and approaches for geospatial analytics within the Databricks ecosystem.
• Partner with infrastructure and platform teams to optimize Databricks clusters and Oracle environments for large-scale geospatial workloads.
• Translate complex geospatial findings into actionable recommendations for business stakeholders.
• Mentor junior analysts on geospatial analytics, SQL best practices, and database design principles.

Required Qualifications

• 14+ years of professional experience in data analytics, geospatial analytics, database development, or a closely related area.
• Strong hands-on experience with Databricks, including notebooks, jobs, and cluster optimization.
• Strong expertise in Oracle Database, including database development, table/index design, performance optimization, and spatial capabilities.
• Advanced SQL skills, including query optimization, window functions, and spatial queries.
• Strong understanding of database concepts including normalization, transaction management, indexing, and performance tuning.
• Practical knowledge of geospatial concepts such as projections, topology, coordinate reference systems, and spatial joins.
• Experience processing and analyzing large-scale spatial and relational datasets.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with distributed and cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with enterprise-scale data platforms, cloud-based analytics environments, geospatial visualization, and location intelligence solutions is preferred
