Description

You will design, develop, and maintain GIS applications using GE Smallworld Magik and Python.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to architecture discussions and the design of scalable GIS solutions.
• Develop GIS projects primarily in Magik and reimagine them in Python.
• Build reusable code libraries and modules to improve maintainability.
• Apply SOLID principles and design patterns to all software development tasks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver technical project requirements.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of technical contribution in a structured team environment focusing on GIS applications.
• Expertise in GE Smallworld Magik and Python.
• Strong proficiency in object-oriented programming and design patterns.
• Experience with SQL databases, including data modeling and SQL query design.
• Experience with automated testing platforms and writing unit tests.
• Knowledge of distributed systems and fundamental design principles for scalable applications.
• Ability to write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
• A 4-year college degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Skills

• Academic background in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Statistics.
• Knowledge of IIoT, OT, and industrial electrical concepts.
