GIS Test Consultant

Lead testing efforts for GIS applications in the utilities sector, overseeing test planning, strategy, and release sign-offs.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute comprehensive test strategies including functional, regression, data validation, and non-functional testing for GIS upgrades and migrations.
• Lead test estimation, planning, and release approvals for ArcMap to ArcGIS Pro transitions and cloud enablement initiatives.
• Partner with GIS architects, developers, and business users to align test scope with client goals and ensure quality standards.
• Manage test execution using JIRA, HP ALM/Octane, and Azure DevOps, providing regular status reports and risk assessments to client leadership.
• Implement automation frameworks using UFT, Eggplant Functional, Selenium, and Playwright, while promoting GenAI-assisted test design.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of overall testing experience, including 5+ years as a Test Lead.
• Strong background testing GIS applications within the Utilities domain (Electric, Gas, Water).
• Deep understanding of GIS data models, layers, map services, and feature services.
• Hands-on experience with test management tools: JIRA, HP ALM, Octane, and Azure DevOps.
• Proficiency in test automation tools: UFT, Eggplant Functional, Selenium, and Playwright.
• Experience with API testing (ESRI REST) and database validation.
• Mandatory prior onsite client-facing experience in the US.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of Python and ArcPy for test scripting and data validation.
• Familiarity with GenAI-assisted test design and script maintenance.
