Description

Manage production environments for large-scale distributed applications by monitoring system health, availability, and performance.

This role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Monitor system availability and gather metrics from operating systems and applications to assist in performance tuning and fault finding.
• Build software and systems to automate platform infrastructure and application management.
• Configure, support, and manage monitoring tools including Icinga, Graphite, Splunk, and Nagios.
• Partner with development teams to improve services through rigorous testing, release procedures, and well-defined service-level objectives.
• Participate in system design consulting, capacity planning, and alert configuration.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of professional experience.
• Proficiency in Golang, Python, Java, or JavaScript.
• Experience with structured and object-oriented programming.
• Ability to perform alert configuration, suppression, and endpoint management.
• Bachelor degree in computer science or a related discipline.
• Proven ability to identify performance bottlenecks and system improvements.

Preferred Skills

• Coding experience that extends beyond simple scripting.
• Previous success in technical engineering roles.
