Description

You will build distributed analysis capabilities and data-intensive APIs as a senior member of the data engineering team.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain RESTful data-intensive APIs.
• Implement stream processing pipelines using Apache Kafka.
• Perform data modeling for large-scale relational or NoSQL databases.
• Apply algorithms and data structures to solve complex technical challenges.
• Develop distributed analysis capabilities.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of software development experience.
• 4+ years of production GoLang experience.
• Experience with Apache Kafka stream processing.
• Proficiency with Docker containerized application deployments.
• Experience with Protocol buffers and gRPC.
• Strong background in Unit Testing and Test Driven Development.
• Experience working in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience with Apache Beam or Google Cloud Dataflow.
• Experience with Google Kubernetes Engine or Kubernetes.

Preferred Skills

• Experience working with scientific datasets or bioinformatics.
• Experience with large scale storage, variant data mining, or genotype to phenotype correlation.
