Lead backend development for e-commerce and merchandising applications on cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

• Develop backend applications and iterate on product design with designers and product managers.
• Collaborate with onshore and offshore engineering teams to deliver quality code.
• Uphold engineering best practices and review application and feature code.
• Plan future API upgrades and monitor system performance to rectify usability issues.

Required Skills

• 12+ years of total professional experience.
• 5+ years developing large-scale microservices-based applications using Go or Java.
• Significant experience with microservices architecture and development.
• Deep understanding of REST principles and building RESTful APIs.
• Extensive knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases including SQL Server, Postgres, and Cassandra.
• Significant experience with messaging architectures using Kafka or equivalent.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, GIT, CI/CD, and writing unit/integration tests.
• Proficiency in Agile methodologies and principles.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with the JavaScript, Node, and React ecosystem.
