Description

You will design and implement scalable data lake environments and cloud-based data solutions on Google Cloud Platform.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Build coding standards and frameworks for data engineering projects.
• Guide onshore and offshore developers to ensure technical standards are met.
• Evaluate Google Cloud technologies and lead Proof-of-Concept projects.
• Collaborate with application development teams throughout the full development life cycle.
• Document and communicate complex design items through technical documentation and white-boarding.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in the data field.
• 4+ years designing, coding, testing, and supporting scalable data lake environments.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Proficiency in Java and Python coding.
• Experience with BigQuery, Bigtable, Google Airflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions, DataFlow (Apache Beam), and Cloud Data Store.
• Strong foundation in design, data structures, and algorithms.
• Experience building highly available and scalable applications in GCP.
• Technical team management experience, including managing offshore members.
• Working knowledge of Agile software development methodologies.

Preferred Skills

• Retail related data warehousing experience.
