Description

You will create instructional materials and Instructions for Use (IFUs) for drug delivery devices and combination products, supporting Instruction Design and Human Factors Engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Create and update IFU content, layouts, and graphics to ensure regulatory compliance for new and existing medical devices.
• Produce low-fidelity sketches and high-fidelity digital prototypes for design reviews and iterative usability studies.
• Build physical models of IFUs, cartons, and leaflets using hand prototyping methods such as printing, trimming, and binding.
• Collaborate with Device Engineering, Clinical, Legal, and Regulatory Affairs teams to define instruction requirements.
• Transition multiple design concepts into refined, single-solution designs during the product evolution process.

Required Skills

• 5-10 years of instruction design experience, specifically creating IFUs for regulated products.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
• Strong capability in rapid sketch illustration and digital line-art illustration (e.g., hands holding devices).
• Experience in image editing and layout design.
• Background in medical devices, healthcare, or pharmaceuticals.
• Ability to balance design thinking with strict regulatory requirements.
• Experience supporting Human Factors Engineering (HFE) usability studies.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with DFU and Human Factors Engineering workflows.
