Description

You administer and maintain IBM Db2 databases across LUW or z/OS environments.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and maintain multiple Db2 databases, resolving locking conflicts, buffer pool issues, and catalog inconsistencies.
• Monitor database health using Db2 Monitoring Console, db2pd, and db2top to detect deadlocks and utilization problems.
• Manage tablespaces, containers, storage groups, and transaction logs, including log archiving and recovery configurations.
• Configure and manage Db2 security models, including logins, roles, privileges, and external systems like LDAP/Kerberos.
• Optimize performance by tuning indexes, running RUNSTATS, and adjusting configuration parameters.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience as a Database Administrator.
• Expertise with IBM Db2 on LUW or z/OS.
• Proficiency with Db2 utilities and monitoring tools (db2pd, db2top).
• Strong Db2 performance tuning skills, including index design and buffer pool adjustments.
• Experience managing Db2 security models and external authentication.
• Knowledge of Db2 log management and recovery configurations (LOGARCHMETH1/2).
