Description

Design, administer, and troubleshoot IBM MQ messaging environments, ensuring message flow, availability, and system health across distributed and mainframe platforms.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain IBM MQ components including queue managers, queues, channels, listeners, and cluster environments.
• Manage message flows, integrations, and transformations using IBM MQ, IIB/ACE, Java, and XML.
• Monitor MQ environments to ensure system health, proactively addressing issues and performing root cause analysis for incidents.
• Troubleshoot MQ-related problems such as stuck messages, performance degradation, and connectivity failures.
• Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to integrate MQ with downstream and upstream systems.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with IBM WebSphere MQ / IBM MQ.
• Proficiency in Java, XML, JMS, and REST APIs for foundational message transformation.
• Knowledge of mainframe Z/OS structure, libraries, and scripting.
• Experience with Linux and distributed platforms.
• Understanding of high availability on MQ and distributed platforms.
• Comprehensive knowledge of messaging concepts including queues, topics, channels, persistence, and transactions.
• Ability to use ServiceNow for ticketing and follow-up.
• Advanced troubleshooting skills with expertise in analyzing MQ logs and traces.
