Description

Manage and support job scheduling and workload automation across AS/400 and AIX environments. Own the health of distributed batch operations and production middleware.

Responsibilities

• Administer Tivoli Work Scheduler (TWS) and IBM Workload Scheduler (IWS) 9.4, including agent installation, backups, exports, and dumps.
• Troubleshoot P1 and P2 middleware application issues in production using WAS logs on Unix 7.1.
• Monitor server health for all systems with IWS agents and resolve failed batch jobs or system errors to resume operations.
• Execute scripts for Oracle, AIX, SQL, .NET, Web Services, and Java software during and after business hours.
• Create and maintain operational run books for distributed batch operations and produce daily status reports via system logs.

Required Skills

• 1+ years of experience in workload automation and job scheduling.
• Hands-on administration of Tivoli Work Scheduler (TWS) or IBM Workload Scheduler.
• Proven experience completing projects involving the creation of batch jobs in TWS or IBM Workload Scheduler.
• Technical proficiency with z/OS, JCL, JCL Prep, and TSO/ISPF.
• Operating system experience across AS/400, AIX, Unix/Linux, and Windows.
• Hardware exposure to IBM zSeries processors, IBM DS8000 storage arrays, and IBM TS7700 virtual tape grids.
• Experience with CA-7 or Control-M.
• Knowledge of .NET Framework, Java, SQL, and Web Services.
• Ability to provide L1 or L2 support for job monitoring.

Preferred Skills

• Experience working within ITIL processes.
