Description

You will administer and maintain IBM Workload Scheduler (IWS) environments across development, test, and production systems. This role owns the stability and efficiency of daily batch operations, ensuring SLA adherence through proactive monitoring and incident resolution.

Responsibilities

• Administer IWS environments, managing job streams, calendars, schedules, and dependencies.
• Monitor batch operations and scheduler consoles to ensure successful job execution and performance.
• Perform root cause analysis for job failures, implementing permanent fixes and rollback procedures.
• Coordinate with application, database, and infrastructure teams to resolve incidents and delays.
• Validate new jobs and schedules during User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and production deployments.

Required Skills

• Extensive hands-on experience with IBM Workload Scheduler (IWS) or Tivoli Workload Scheduler.
• Strong knowledge of job scheduling, monitoring, and batch processing operations.
• Proficiency in ITIL-based processes for incident, problem, and change management.
• Proven ability to perform root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes for batch failures.
• 10-15 years of relevant experience in scheduler administration and operations.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent communication abilities.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with other scheduling tools and technologies beyond IBM IWS.
• Familiarity with application release management and deployment processes.
