IDMS DBA

You will provide IDMS DBA support for application and infrastructure databases, working with development teams, z/OS support staff, and client DBAs.

Responsibilities

• Administer and deploy IDMS in a z/OS environment on an IBM mainframe.
• Create, modify, monitor, and tune IDMS Network database structures.
• Deploy and manage IDMS security, including ADS/O application structures and relational objects.
• Understand application programming for IDMS using native and SQL, specifically COBOL and ADS/O.
• Plan projects, estimate technical effort, and allocate resources for IT development implementations.

Required Skills

• Extensive knowledge of IDMS deployment and operations on z/OS.
• Expertise in IDMS Network database creation, modification, monitoring, and tuning.
• Knowledge of IDMS security deployment for ADS/O and relational objects.
• Familiarity with COBOL and ADS/O programming for IDMS database interaction.
• Familiarity with IBM High Level Assembler on z/OS.
• Experience using IDMS Perfmon for online monitoring and report generation.
• Understanding of enterprise-class application development projects.
• Project planning and effort estimation skills.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
