Description

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise applications using COBOL and IMS DB.
• Develop and support both online (IMS DC/CICS) and batch processing applications.
• Create and optimize IMS DB database structures, DBDs, PSBs, and application programs.
• Develop and maintain JCL, utilities, and batch job scheduling processes.
• Perform program analysis, debugging, performance tuning, and root cause analysis.
• Support application modernization, system upgrades, and data migration initiatives.
• Develop interfaces between mainframe applications and distributed/cloud platforms.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, deployment, and production support activities.
• Prepare technical documentation and mentor junior developers.
• Collaborate with business analysts, architects, and infrastructure teams to deliver scalable and reliable solutions.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience in IBM Mainframe application development.
• Strong expertise in:
• COBOL
• IMS DB
• IMS DC (Transaction Manager)
• JCL
• Experience with IBM utilities including DFSORT, IDCAMS, and IEBGENER.
• Strong understanding of batch processing and online transaction processing.
• Experience with DB2 for z/OS and SQL.
• Knowledge of VSAM, GDGs, and sequential file processing.
• Experience with source control tools such as Endevor, Changeman, or ISPW.
• Familiarity with debugging and testing tools such as Abend-AID, File-AID, and Xpediter.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
