Description

You will build automation scripts for Adobe InDesign using ExtendScript and Adobe UXP to streamline editorial and production workflows.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Develop ExtendScript and UXP scripts to automate InDesign tasks, including INDD file creation and batch image optimization.
• Structure editorial content and create product or authoring templates for efficient publishing.
• Integrate editorial workflows with structured data formats such as XML-based systems and content management systems.
• Generate structured outputs in HTML, JSON, and XML to enable seamless data exchange.
• Maintain and enhance automation pipelines while supporting structured authoring frameworks like DITA XML.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in editorial or production automation.
• Expert-level knowledge of Adobe InDesign and the Creative Suite.
• Strong proficiency in ExtendScript for InDesign automation.
• Deep understanding of XML (structured and semi-structured data) and HTML/JSON.
• Experience automating publishing and editorial workflows.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with editorial, design, and production teams.
• Production-focused problem-solving mindset.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with DITA XML frameworks.
