Description

You will serve as the Project Engineer and primary point of contact for suppliers and vendors, overseeing equipment design and development for manufacturing processes.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Design efficient, cost-effective processes for new and retrofit manufacturing operations, including safety products.
• Manage equipment sizing, costing, and fabrication requirements.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and quality engineers to capture equipment and tooling risks within PFMEAs.
• Identify and eliminate root causes to reduce unplanned equipment downtime and scrap.
• Support Lean, 6S, and IATF16949 programs through participation in layered process audits.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in industrial or project engineering.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks for mechanical system design.
• Hands-on experience with APQP, PFMEA, and Gage R&R.
• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt with practical use of DMAIC and root cause analysis tools.
• Experience with automated feed systems, robotics, and end-of-arm tooling.
• Knowledge of Allen Bradley PLCs and HMIs.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for pneumatic, hydraulic, welding, assembly, or injection molding processes.

Preferred Skills

• Automotive industry experience.
• Familiarity with Siemens or Omron PLC systems.
