Lead the migration of legacy Informatica ETL workloads to a modern dbt-on-Snowflake architecture on Azure.
Responsibilities
Define the target ELT architecture using dbt on Snowflake, integrated with Azure services including ADF, ADLS, Synapse, Databricks, Key Vault, and Azure DevOps/GitHub.
Translate legacy Informatica mappings, workflows, and sessions into modular dbt models across staging, core, and mart layers.
Establish modeling standards, including naming conventions, layer design, and folder/package structures.
Implement performance-optimized patterns in dbt and Snowflake, such as incremental models, clustering, partitioning logic, and query tuning.
Oversee the migration strategy, wave planning, and conversion factory development, including templates, accelerators, and playbooks.
Required Skills
10+ years of total experience in Data Engineering, ETL, or Data Warehousing.
3+ years of hands-on experience with dbt (Core or Cloud) building production-grade pipelines.
Proven track record leading Informatica-to-dbt migrations to Snowflake on Azure or similar large-scale ETL modernizations.
Strong Snowflake expertise: designing schemas, views, warehouses, and optimizing performance.
Solid knowledge of the Azure data stack: Azure Data Factory, ADLS, Azure DevOps, and GitHub.
Experience with Synapse and Databricks integration.
Ability to design repeatable migration factories, including mapping spreadsheets and conversion playbooks.
Preferred Skills
Experience defining and implementing comprehensive testing strategies using dbt tests and data quality checks.
