Description

Define and lead the migration of legacy Informatica ETL workloads to a modular dbt architecture on Snowflake within Azure.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Translate legacy Informatica mappings, workflows, and sessions into modular dbt models across staging, core, and mart layers.
• Design the target ELT architecture using dbt on Snowflake, integrated with Azure Data Factory, ADLS, Synapse, and Databricks.
• Establish modeling standards, naming conventions, and folder structures for reusable, production-grade data pipelines.
• Optimize performance in dbt and Snowflake using incremental models, clustering, partitioning logic, and query tuning.
• Lead the migration strategy, roadmap, and wave planning while overseeing unit testing, parallel runs, and validation of business rules.

Required Skills

• 8+ years total experience in Data Engineering, ETL, and Data Warehousing.
• 3+ years hands-on experience with dbt (Core or Cloud) building production-grade pipelines.
• Proven experience leading large-scale Informatica to dbt migrations on Snowflake.
• Strong Snowflake expertise: schema design, views, warehouses, and performance optimization.
• Solid working knowledge of Azure data stack: Azure Data Factory, ADLS, Azure DevOps, and GitHub.
• Experience defining and implementing testing strategies using dbt schema, data, and custom tests.
• Ability to set up and maintain dbt environments, profiles, and connections to Snowflake.
• Strong background in code reviews, pull requests, and enforcing code quality practices.
