Description

Lead the migration of legacy Informatica ETL workloads to a modern dbt-on-Snowflake architecture on Azure. You will define the target ELT design, establish modeling standards, and oversee the end-to-end conversion strategy.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Translate Informatica mappings, workflows, and sessions into modular dbt models across staging, core, and mart layers.
• Design and implement performance-optimized patterns in dbt and Snowflake, including incremental models, clustering, and query tuning.
• Define and enforce code quality practices, including modular reusable packages, naming conventions, and rigorous code reviews.
• Establish a repeatable migration factory with templates, accelerators, and playbooks to convert Informatica jobs to dbt.
• Oversee unit testing, parallel runs, and data validation to ensure dbt models match legacy outputs and business rules.

Required Skills

• 10+ years total experience in Data Engineering, ETL, or Data Warehousing.
• 3+ years hands-on experience with dbt (Core or Cloud) building production-grade pipelines.
• Proven track record leading Informatica to dbt migrations on Snowflake.
• Strong expertise in Snowflake: schema design, views, warehouses, and performance optimization.
• Solid knowledge of the Azure data stack: Azure Data Factory (ADF), ADLS, Synapse, Databricks, and Key Vault.
• Experience with Azure DevOps or GitHub for version control and CI/CD integration.
• Ability to analyze complex legacy ETL logic, dependencies, and schedules to design equivalent or improved dbt solutions.

Preferred Skills

• Experience designing and maintaining dbt environments (dev/test/prod) and profiles.
• Strong background in data quality checks and implementing custom dbt tests.
