Description

You will manage the accuracy and quality of Protected Health Information (PHI) within EHR systems, ensuring the integrity of all medical records.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the Master Patient Index (MPI) and execute chart corrections, patient account merges, and overlay resolutions using specialized tools.
• Perform identity management functions, including patient account validation and interface error resolution.
• Conduct root cause analysis on data discrepancies and collaborate with HIM management to rectify issues.
• Coordinate medical records requests by verifying authenticity, reviewing for completeness, and managing secure transmission.
• Participate in regular chart reviews, medical records audits, and quality assurance processes.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in HIM or data integrity roles.
• Proficiency with EHR systems and HIM data management.
• Experience with identity management functions and patient account validation.
• Knowledge of PHI handling, including electronic and paper record coordination.
• Ability to perform root cause analysis on data discrepancies.
• Familiarity with state and federal timeframes for medical record fulfillment.
• Ability to certify copies of medical records and notarize requests as needed.
