Description

You will manage security monitoring and incident response for a 1.5-month engagement.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security events and alerts using SIEM, IDS/IPS, and firewalls.
• Investigate and respond to incidents including malware, network intrusions, and unauthorized access.
• Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify weaknesses.
• Analyze incidents to determine threat nature, impact, and root cause.
• Develop and maintain incident response plans and documentation.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of experience in a Security Operations Center (SOC) or related security role.
• Hands-on experience with SIEM, IDS/IPS, and firewall monitoring.
• Experience with vulnerability assessment tools for databases, web applications, Windows/Unix servers, and data networks.
• Working knowledge of FISMA and NIST information security regulations.
• Proficiency in IT security best practices for networks, protocol analysis, and anomaly detection.
• Hands-on experience securing Windows and Unix servers and workstations.
• Technical knowledge of networking protocols and security infrastructure components.

Preferred Skills

• Understanding of HIPAA and IRS compliance requirements.
