Description

You will build and enhance secure on-premise and Azure cloud SQL Server infrastructures within the Data and Analytics Technology Organization.

Responsibilities

• Implement hardened, controls-compliant Azure SQL Database deployments using infrastructure-as-code best practices.
• Design, develop, and debug Azure SQL Database infrastructure configuration management using Terraform.
• Research and assess new Microsoft feature enhancements for the Azure SQL PaaS offering through PoCs.
• Support engineering and DBA teams by troubleshooting and resolving issues related to Azure SQL Database and affiliated services.
• Maintain IaC provider libraries by staying current with HashiCorp Terraform provider releases.

Required Skills

• Strong experience in SQL Server data engineering, specifically Azure SQL Database and T-SQL.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise and cloud infrastructure automation using Terraform and PowerShell.
• Proficiency with GitHub, GitHub Actions, and Jira within an agile SDLC.
• Solid understanding of Azure cloud stack and cloud infrastructure engineering.
• Ability to write clear, comprehensive technical documentation and procedures.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for complex infrastructure environments.

Preferred Skills

• Scripting and automation experience using Python.
• Experience creating technical architecture documentation and diagrams.
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate or Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
