Description

You will own the administration and optimization of Db2 z/OS environments, ensuring high availability, security, and performance.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Administer and optimize Db2 z/OS environments for high availability and security.
• Triage and resolve complex interdepartmental issues, from job restarts to performance bottlenecks.
• Analyze access paths and explain plans to isolate performance issues and support proactive tuning.
• Provide technical counsel on DBA matters and coordinate with Senior DBAs on large-scale projects.
• Identify opportunities to streamline workloads through automation and process improvements.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in database administration roles.
• Specific focus on Db2 z/OS environments.
• Proficiency in database design, implementation, and maintenance.
• Experience with performance tuning and optimization.
• Ability to analyze and interpret database access paths and explain plans.
• Experience managing database security, backup, recovery, and resiliency strategies.
• Familiarity with automation tools and scripting for administration tasks.
• Understanding of database lifecycle management, including deployment, upgrades, and patching.

Preferred Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Science Technology.
• Knowledge of industry best practices for database performance, scalability, and reliability.
