BNY is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineering – Mainframe Communications Systems Software Engineer to support and manage enterprise IBM Mainframe (z/OS) environments. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in mainframe infrastructure, communications software, system programming, and leading technical teams while driving modernization and automation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and support IBM Mainframe (z/OS) infrastructure.
• Lead hardware and software lifecycle management projects.
• Administer and support technologies including JCL, DB2, IMS, CICS, Source Code Management, and SDLC.
• Manage mainframe security using RACF, ACF2, or Top Secret (TSS).
• Drive infrastructure modernization, automation, and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with application development, production support, and data center teams.
• Lead technical teams, mentor engineers, and deliver complex infrastructure projects.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of IT experience with strong Mainframe Infrastructure expertise.
• Hands-on experience with IBM z/OS environments.
• Strong knowledge of:
• VTAM
• TCP/IP
• IBM Connect
• CA Session Manager
• CA Spool
• JCL
• ISPF/TSO
• Experience with DB2, IMS, CICS, Source Code Management, and SDLC.
• Knowledge of RACF, ACF2, or Top Secret (TSS).
• Experience in Mainframe System Programming, Infrastructure Engineering, Hardware, or Application Development.
• Experience leading technical teams and large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and architecture/design skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• ITIL/ITSM experience (Release, Change Management, CMDB).
• Experience installing and supporting IBM Operating Systems and ISV software.
• Experience building and maintaining enterprise mainframe platforms.
• Financial Services or Banking domain experience is a plus.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Relevant infrastructure or mainframe certifications are preferred
