Roles and Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and manage end-to-end data archival solutions using IBM Optim.
• Create and manage archive processes including Access Definitions, Archive Requests, Extract Requests, and Restore Requests.
• Configure database aliases and manage multi-source archival environments.
• Monitor and optimize data archival performance to ensure efficiency and reliability.
• Generate audit reports for archive and delete requests to meet compliance requirements.
• Manage unstructured data archival and implement data retention and legal hold policies.
• Work with Optim Connect and support version upgrades, patches (iFix), and enhancements.
• Maintain storage profiles and ensure efficient data lifecycle management.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure and database-related issues, including compatibility and performance concerns.
• Provide Level 3 (L3) production support, including on-call support when required.
• Develop automation scripts using Python, Shell, and PowerShell to improve operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support infrastructure solution design and implementation.
• Mentor junior team members and share best practices in data archival and infrastructure management.
• Support cloud-based archival implementations and database encryption strategies.
• Ensure adherence to security standards, governance, and compliance policies.

Skills Required:

• Strong hands-on experience with IBM Optim for data archival.
• Good understanding of database lifecycle management and archival strategies.
• Proficiency in SQL across databases such as Oracle, DB2 (LUW & Mainframe), PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server, and Teradata.
• Experience with Mainframe technologies including DB2 z/OS, TSO, ISPF, JCL, and REXX.
• Expertise in Optim Connect and multi-environment configurations.
• xExperience in automation using Python, Shell scripting, and PowerShell.
• Knowledge of database performance tuning, scaling, and optimization.
• Familiarity with cloud environments and data archival solutions.
• Understanding of data security, encryption, and compliance requirements.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills in complex environments.
• Ability to collaborate across teams and manage priorities effectively.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
