Description

Design and manage end-to-end data archival solutions using IBM Optim.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement archive processes, including Access Definitions, Archive Requests, and Restore Requests.
• Configure database aliases, manage multi-source environments, and maintain storage profiles for efficient data lifecycle management.
• Develop automation scripts using Python, Shell, and PowerShell to improve operational efficiency and support cloud-based implementations.
• Provide Level 3 production support, troubleshoot infrastructure and database issues, and manage version upgrades and patches for Optim Connect.
• Generate audit reports for compliance, enforce data retention and legal hold policies, and ensure adherence to security standards.

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with IBM Optim for data archival and Optim Connect configurations.
• Proficiency in SQL across Oracle, DB2 (LUW & Mainframe), PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server, and Teradata.
• Experience with Mainframe technologies including DB2 z/OS, TSO, ISPF, JCL, and REXX.
• Expertise in automation using Python, Shell scripting, and PowerShell.
• Knowledge of database performance tuning, scaling, optimization, and cloud environments.
• Understanding of data security, encryption, and compliance requirements.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline with 5+ years of experience.

Preferred Skills

• Experience supporting version upgrades, patches (iFix), and enhancements for IBM Optim.
• Ability to mentor junior team members and share best practices in data archival.
