Description

Lead strategic sourcing and architecture for complex IT infrastructure solutions at VITA. You will define technical requirements, evaluate supplier proposals, and ensure alignment with existing systems for server, storage, network, and end-user services.

Responsibilities

• Lead requirements development sessions with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to define needs for integrated IT solutions.
• Evaluate and analyze networking, computing hardware, and software capabilities to draft detailed technical requirements and project plans.
• Review supplier proposals from a technical standpoint, assessing feasibility within existing infrastructure and providing feedback to RFP teams.
• Conduct market research and strategy planning, including contributing to Requests for Information and facilitating supplier engagement.
• Prepare technical reports and summaries for leadership, ensuring architectural decisions support key RFP milestones.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience as a Senior Solutions Architect or in equivalent infrastructure roles.
• Deep expertise in IT infrastructure, including server, storage, data center services, and network services.
• Strong background in strategic sourcing, procurement processes, and RFP development.
• Proficiency in requirements discovery, solution context formulation, and technology selection.
• Experience with High Availability, Disaster Recovery, and IT security architectures.
• Ability to lead technical interviews and translate business requirements into technical specifications.
• Experience reviewing and evaluating hardware and software proposals.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with end-user services (PCs, laptops, tablets) and support infrastructure.
