Description

You will ensure the security, stability, and compliance of enterprise Linux systems through timely patching and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and execute Linux OS patching (RHEL, Oracle Linux) across production and non-production environments.
• Coordinate quarterly and emergency patch cycles, adhering to ITIL change management processes.
• Perform pre- and post-patching validation, including system health checks and service status verification.
• Collaborate with Oracle DBAs to patch and maintain servers hosting Oracle Database (standalone or RAC).
• Troubleshoot and resolve OS-level or database-related issues arising from patching activities.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience in a relevant technical position within large organizations.
• Expert knowledge of Linux OS patching and maintenance.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise patch management tools like Ansible and Red Hat Satellite.
• Working knowledge of Oracle Database environments on Linux, including Grid Infrastructure.
• Experience in cloud and hybrid environments, specifically with OCP and OCI.
• Strong CLI and troubleshooting skills for server environments in PR-DR data centers.
• Understanding of Linux vulnerability assessment reports and mitigation strategies.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes for change management.
• Ability to contribute to automation and process improvements in patch management.
