Description

You design, implement, and maintain IBM Netcool/Omnibus infrastructure for enterprise event management, ensuring optimal platform performance and reliability.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain ObjectServer configurations, triggers, and automation procedures to optimize event processing.
• Create event correlation rules, filters, and enrichment policies to reduce alert noise and improve signal quality.
• Develop custom integration solutions using APIs and scripting (PHP, JavaScript, Bash, Python) for third-party ITSM and monitoring tools.
• Administer Linux (RHEL) systems hosting Netcool components and manage Oracle database schemas for backend data.
• Implement high availability, disaster recovery, and patching strategies with minimal downtime.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with IBM Netcool/Omnibus (ObjectServer, Probes, Gateways).
• Strong understanding of Netcool architecture including OMNIbus, Impact, WebGUI/Dash, and Message Bus.
• 3+ years of Linux system administration experience (user management, file systems, networking, security).
• Proficiency in scripting languages: Bash, Python, PHP, or JavaScript.
• Working knowledge of Oracle database administration, including SQL queries and basic DBA tasks.
• Experience with webhook integrations, REST APIs, HTTPS, and ITSM platforms.
• Solid understanding of event management best practices and ITIL principles.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with SNMP, Syslog, and network protocols.
• Familiarity with monitoring concepts such as thresholds, baselines, and anomaly detection.
