Description

Lead the development, optimization, and delivery of critical iSeries/AS400 applications using COBOL and SQL. You will guide distributed teams while maintaining hands-on involvement in coding and architectural decisions.

Responsibilities

• Analyze functional and technical requirements, collaborating with business and client stakeholders to refine solutions.
• Provide hands-on development and technical leadership using COBOL, COBOL ILE, and CLLE on AS400 platforms.
• Guide onshore/offshore teams through Agile/Scrum processes, contributing to continuous integration and delivery improvements.
• Identify opportunities to fine-tune applications, optimizing performance and scalability of existing systems.
• Mentor team members and support the development of functional and technical technology roadmaps.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of hands-on development experience in COBOL on AS400 (Mid-Range) environments.
• Strong proficiency in COBOL ILE, COBOL/400 ILE, and CLLE.
• Experience with SQL and DB2/400 (DB2400) database management and optimization.
• Practical knowledge of ACMS and MOM (Message Oriented Middleware).
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams in an onshore/offshore delivery model.
• Proficiency in Agile and Scrum methodologies.
• Excellent communication skills for coordinating with stakeholders and clients.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in analyzing and translating complex business requirements into technical solutions.
• Ability to work independently to guide distributed engineering teams.
