Description

Develop and maintain complex applications on the iSeries platform while leading system architecture and solution design.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex application programming using ILE COBOL, ILE CL, and DB2.
• Lead system architecture definition and detailed solution design for scalable systems.
• Own code quality by conducting your own testing and participating in code reviews.
• Manage projects from initiation through to delivery and warranty.
• Mentor and guide junior developers on the team.

Required Skills

• 10 years of professional experience, including 8 years of programming and 5 years of analysis.
• Extensive COBOL development experience on iSeries within the last 5 years.
• Hands-on experience with ILE COBOL, ILE CL, and DB2 database.
• Deep understanding of interactive screen development.
• Practical knowledge of iSeries APIs, Data queues, and User queues.
• Experience with multithreading, journaling, and IBM iSeries file systems.
• Full SDLC project lifecycle knowledge.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with SQL and MQ Series.
