Description

Develop and support iSeries applications in a retail domain environment.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and develop iSeries code using RPG, RPG ILE, and SQLRPGLE to support retail applications.
• Create functional specifications, data mapping documents, and business rule documentation.
• Perform code reviews, unit testing, and peer reviews to ensure scalability.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, QA, and business teams to define requirements.
• Provide second-level support for incident tickets and participate in on-call rotations.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in iSeries/AS400 development.
• Proficiency in RPG, RPG ILE, SQLRPGLE, and Control Language (CLP/CLLE).
• Strong SQL skills, including complex queries, embedded SQL, cursors, and stored procedures.
• Experience with database concepts: physical files, logical files, SQL tables, indexes, and views.
• Hands-on experience with screen programming using Display files, Subfiles, and Printer files.
• Knowledge of ILE programming, including program modules, binding directories, and service programs.
• Experience with Message Queue (MQ), MQ Triggers, and embedding XML tags in RPG programs.
• Ability to perform data mapping by analyzing program and data flows.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Turnover configuration management, X-Analysis, and ROBOT job scheduler.
• Knowledge of iSeries Navigator for SQL performance analysis and Star Schema structures.
• Domain expertise in Retail, specifically Merchandising, Warehouse Management, or Distribution.
