Description

You design, execute, and approve test plans and scripts for iSeries (RPG) environments. You own the defect management process, ensuring timely communication and resolution while maintaining traceability to user stories. You analyze business requirements for testability and provide accurate QA resource estimates.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain standardized QA processes, policies, and test documentation aligned with SDLC best practices.
• Conduct requirement gathering sessions to assess clarity, testability, and ambiguity in design documents.
• Manage the full defect lifecycle, including assignment, monitoring, and resolution tracking in collaboration with development teams.
• Create and approve comprehensive test plans, cases, and scripts that verify feature requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Identify process improvements and automation opportunities to enhance QA efficiency and reporting metrics.

Required Skills

• Minimum 5 years of software quality assurance experience, with at least 3 years specifically in iSeries (RPG) testing.
• Strong proficiency with HP ALM or similar industry-standard SQA tools (IBM, HP).
• Hands-on experience testing in Agile or DevOps environments within an SDLC framework.
• Ability to write complex SQL queries using table joins against Oracle, MS SQL Server, or DB2.
• Experience testing across RDBMS, n-tier client/server, and cloud-based environments.
• Solid understanding of build tools and software configuration management standards.
• Proven ability to produce effective test plans, resource schedules, and verifiable test evidence.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.

Preferred Skills

• Experience mentoring others in the creation of test plans and cases.
• Background in UI or functional testing for complex enterprise applications.
