Description

Develop and support iSeries applications for retail operations, handling full-cycle development from requirements to production support.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and develop iSeries code using RPG, RPG ILE, SQLRPGLE, and Control Language (CLP/CLLE).
• Create functional specifications, data mapping documents, and business rule documentation.
• Perform code reviews, unit testing, and peer reviews to ensure scalability and best practices.
• Provide 2nd level support for daily incident tickets and create KB articles for 1st level support.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, QA, and business areas to define and document requirements.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of programming experience on the iSeries platform.
• Proficiency in RPG, RPG ILE, SQLRPGLE, and Control Language (CLP/CLLE).
• Strong SQL skills including complex queries, embedded SQL in SQLRPGLE, cursor programming, and SQL Stored Procedures.
• Experience with database objects including Physical files, Logical files, SQL tables, indexes, and views.
• Knowledge of screen programming using Display Files, Subfiles, and Printer files.
• Experience with ILE programming, including program modules, binding directories, and service programs.
• Working knowledge of Message Queuing (MQ), MQ Triggers, and embedding XML tags in RPG programs.
• Proficiency with ROBOT job scheduler and iSeries Navigator for SQL performance analysis.
• Understanding of normalized/denormalized tables and Star Schema databases.

Preferred Skills

• Domain expertise in Retail, specifically Merchandising, Warehouse Management, or Distribution.
